We set out to create an alternative to the traditional bridal salon, where you can leave today with a designer gown in-hand or place an order for a custom, made-to-order gown from an affordable atelier.

About Emerald City Gowns

Owner, Emilie, got the idea for the shop while helping her best friend find a wedding gown in a fabulous consignment boutique in Seattle. Realizing this standout service was lacking in the Bay Area, she got to work opening her own consignment boutique.

In April 2011, Emilie opened shop with a small storefront on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, California.

The following year Emerald City Gowns relocated to the Fourth Street Shopping district. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to move to a larger space to feature even more off-the-rack gowns and socially distance the fitting rooms.

We’re now back on San Pablo Ave., just one block from where it all started!
