Stunning Adventure Elopement in Seward, Alaska

A Green Bride Experience Submitted by Irish

Finding my gown at Emerald City Gowns was a last minute miracle. My then fiancé and I were able to book an adventure elopement. The pressing issue was I had less than 30 days to find a gown. I was doing a travel work assignment in the Bay Area at that time and was due to return home in South Carolina to go meet my fiancé so we can fly together to Alaska for our elopement. I said I’ll chance it and find a gown in South Carolina. But my friend convinced me to go shopping on my last day in the San Francisco. She highly recommended Emerald City Gown because she had shopped there before. So after a post night-shift breakfast, my two friends (Megan and Danielle) and I headed to the store. I told Emilie about my situation and she quickly put her game-on attitude. I initially had a gown design in mind and was fixed on finding that same type. However Emilie told me I should keep an open mind and she went on looking for gowns that fits my inspiration board as well as the location of our wedding. The gown I initially wanted was there at Emerald, the exact brand and fit! But it turned out it wasn’t as dreamy as I thought it would. I then tried on a few more gowns, and on the fourth try, I found the one! Emilie also suggested a perfect sparkly cathedral veil that would look fairy tale like against the glacier background. Never did thought I would find a beautiful consignment gown!

The bodice of the dress and the mesh side accentuated my body features well. The long train made it look magical while I was running along the wild flowers and on the glacier (as if I was Elsa on Frozen). The hand sewn pearls added just enough glamour look but didn’t overpower the Alaskan Wilderness background. It’s as if the gown was asking people to look at me closely but still view the glaciers, mountains and the sea.
